Fitzroy Island Tours from Cairns
Fitzroy Island is a continental island national park 45 minutes from Cairns — granite peaks, rainforest walking tracks and fringing reef, with Nudey Beach at the end of a 20-minute walk. It is the closest thing Cairns has to a proper island hike combined with a reef day.

Common questions
How long is the Summit walk?
About 45 minutes each way and genuinely steep in places. Nudey Beach is the easier option at roughly 20 minutes on a flat track.
Which departure should I take?
8:30am gives you the longest day, up to 6.5 hours on the island. 10:45am suits a slower start. The 2pm return option is for people staying on the island longer.
Is whale watching available?
Seasonally, yes — the Fitzroy Island whale watching option runs during migration season. Check availability at checkout.
Can I add snorkel gear later?
You can, but it is cheaper bundled. The add-on-only fare exists if you have already booked the ferry.
