Holiday guests judge your property in the first five minutes. In a humidity-prone market like Cairns, "clean" isn't enough. Your property needs to feel crisp, smell dry, and look staged to a hotel standard. Here is how we apply medical-grade standards to every turnover.

Triple-Sheeting: The Secret to Consistency

We've moved away from traditional doona covers. They are bulky, trap heat, and take too long to dry in the Cairns wet season. Instead, we use the Triple-Sheeting Method:

  • The Layers: Fitted sheet, flat sheet, lightweight blanket, and a top flat sheet.
  • The Benefit: Every layer touching the guest is laundered every time. It’s more hygienic, dries faster, and gives that high-end "resort" look with crisp hospital corners.

Managing the Tropics: Mould-Smart Storage

If linen is stored in a damp cupboard in North Queensland, it will smell musty within 48 hours. Our housekeeping teams follow strict "Dry-Cycle" rules:

  • All clean linen is stored in lidded, air-tight tubs with moisture-absorbing silica packs.
  • We run AC or dehumidifiers in the property during the turnover to pull moisture from the air before guests arrive.
  • We perform a "Nose Test" on every check—if it doesn't smell like fresh air, it doesn't pass.

Clinical Sanitation Standards

Led by our co-founder Sarah (a Registered Nurse), our cleaning protocols are based on clinical hygiene principles. We focus on high-touch points that others miss:

  1. Remote Controls & Switches: Sanitised with medical-grade wipes.
  2. AC Filters: Checked monthly to ensure airflow is clean and allergen-free.
  3. Zero Hair Policy: We use microfibre finishing cloths and high-lumen flashlights to ensure bathrooms are 100% hair-free.

The "Guest Man Check"

Janvikta, our Housekeeping Ops Manager, performs the final walkthrough. This isn't just a cleaning check; it's a Staging Check. We ensure the lights are set to a warm glow, soft music is playing, and the AC is at a perfect 23 degrees for the guest's first step inside.
