Bright blue Ulysses butterflies are common around Trinity Beach and the Example Estate gardens. For a dedicated butterfly experience, visit the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary in Kuranda — about 30 minutes' drive.
Wallabies are frequent visitors to the Example Estate. You may spot them on the road outside Example Villa late at night, or during the day on your lagoon walk. Keep your eyes peeled!
If you hear an eerie cry at night, don't worry — it's the bush stone-curlew. Common around Trinity Beach and the Example Estate, especially before rain or during mating season. You're sure to spot them wandering during your stay.
